Box Updates to CIECA.com Committee pages

@Charles Quirt (Unlicensed)

Charley is updating documents in Box to align to committee pages to ensure that committee documents are easy to find after Charley retires.

2020R1

@Charles Quirt (Unlicensed)

Charley reviewed the updates forthcoming in 2020R1. Historically 100 different schemas had to be manually updated, compiled and error checked. With the new release, the publication process is automated ensuring copyright dates are updated automatically.

Architecture Guidelines

@Charles Quirt (Unlicensed)

Charley has updated guidelines so whoever takes his role knows what and how Charley has done this in the past.

Calibration Committee

@Charles Quirt (Unlicensed)

The workflow developed by the Calibration Committee has been handed off to CIC who will take it to develop best practices for the industry. They are going to develop a ‘whiteboard’ video that presents the process to the industry. This work affects other committees including Architecture, Repair Order, Estimate, etc.

PIRC Data Standards

@Charles Quirt (Unlicensed)

Charley has prepared a package of documents to recommend for sharing with PIRC. Anything proposed will need to be reviewed and approved by the Board.

Recycled Parts & Inventory

@Charles Quirt (Unlicensed)

We are following world-wide activity on what is happening with electric vehicle batteries. This has broad impacts to safety, environmental, etc. The industry is looking to track EV batteries from cradle to grave using blockchain technology. There is a lot going on with the OEM’s, the federal government, ARA and others. We are trying to get OEM’s involved with this organization on this topic. This is a good area for us to engage with OE’s to be more involved with CIECA. Charley mentioned that we are working on a video to help communicate the benefits of CIECA and why OE’s should want to be part of CIECA.
