Meeting Minutes

  • Antitrust agreed upon.

  • Meeting minutes from last meeting accepted.

  • CIECA Technical Webinar 2020R2 is good for 9AM PST for Friday, November 20th.

    • Showed a brief overview of the PowerPoint presentation.

      • Mike Hastings will provide PowerPoint slides for his presentation.

      • We will ask Darrell to provide PowerPoint slides for Paulette to add if he wishes.

      • At the end of the presentation, we would like to mention the Strategic Plan and how CIECA is going to be moving forward with Open API and a new committee is going to be formed to do this work and anyone interested is more than welcome to join and help.

  • Discussed the new process of having a new section for Negative test instances that are expected to fail.

    • GitHub was pulled up and showed where the new folder was and the available content.

      • Not all of the Negative XMLs are created, so we need to look at getting the others that have been provided added.

      • There was discussion, this section will house all of the Test Instances that we expect to fail and this will allow our build to work correctly.

  • Open API

    • It was proposed that we need a different meeting or an extension of the Architecture meeting in order to have time to work on the Open API effort. There is not enough time in 30 minute sessions to make great progress.

      • A Doodle will be sent out to find out the best time of a new Committee Meeting to work through Open API initiative.

      • We can work on a Charter for the the new Open API, but we need to come up with a name.

        • It has been proposed that we leave JSON out of the naming of the committee. JSON has been talked about for years and never got any movement. We want to show everyone that CIECA is turning the page and moving forward, so we want to be fresh with our naming.

    • Code List sync of Part type, Rate Type and Total Type

      • The excel list was looked at again to see the differences.

        • Its not as simple as it appears. We have labor Type that we want to make sure it not part of Part Type. So Rate Type has both Part and Labor.

        • The Part Type is can have markups, discounts and can come from OEM, Third Party or Certified Recycler parts. The rates go along with each Part type and then there is the total type.

        • PAL was from EMS when it was linked to LKQ. This was more in line with the insurance policy needs.

        • The list will be reviewed specifically in the next meeting and a proposal made by the Architecture Committee, then the changes will be taken back to the individual committees impacted for feedback/approval.
