ANTITRUST STATEMENT

As participants in this meeting, we need to be mindful of the constraints of antitrust laws. There shall be no discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition. This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning individual prices, rates, coverages, market practices, claims settlement practices, or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. Each participant is obligated to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds.

Agenda

  • Antitrust Agreement and Meeting minutes acceptance

  • Emerging Technology Ad-hoc Committee update

  • Updates on Value Proposition Document (no update)

  • Update on CIC Proposal (no update)

Meeting Minutes

  • Anti Trust Agreed

  • Meeting minutes accepted

  • The CIECA Board meeting to discuss the 2021 Strategic planning is scheduled for this week, which has postponed the work for the CIC proposal and Value Proposition document.

  • The Emerging Technology Ad-hoc Committee draft Charter was created and shared with Ginny for review.

  • Ginny presented a document from Ford EV for moving forward in the EV battery workflow.

    • Ford is the Super User and Owner of the Ford Battery

      • Ford will upload the initial battery information

        • Preliminary battery

        • basic vehicle

      • Ford can view all information of the scanned battery

        • general battery information (model, etc.)

        • History

        • Life cycle

      • Ford will have an Asset Vault of all batteries ever owned by Ford.

      • Ford will provide battery search tools for dealerships to purchase battery

      • Ford will ship purchased battery to the dealership

    • Dealership will be able to view private and public battery information for the dealership

      • Dealership marks battery as sold when customer purchases.

    • Garage Maintenance/Repair will be able to view private and public battery information for the garage

      • Able to upload battery health information

      • The garage can repair the battery and upload the information of the repair.

      • The garage can remove the battery and/or modules

        • If battery and/or modules still has life, the garage will send them to the Repurposer

        • If battery and/or modules are obsolete/end of life they will be sent to the battery recycler not auto recycler.

    • Repurposer will be able to view public and private information of the repurposer

      • Repurposer will confirm receiving and update the health of the battery

      • Repurposer will remove any usable modules from the battery and put into a new battery.

      • Repurposer will transfer obsolete modules to the recycler.

    • Recycler will be able to view public and private information for the recycler.

  • The workflow is valid for the repairable vehicle but does not show a workflow for the totaled vehicle that will not go to a garage for repair.

    • A workflow for an end of life vehicle and the auto recyclers parts needs to be established.

  • The workflow suggest that any useable modules will be placed in a ‘new’ Ford battery and sold as new.

  • This workflow is new, but it is not valid for today. Surveys provide information showing that vehicles are coming to the auto recyclers with batteries. What needs to be done in this situation?

  • The workflow shows that data is private and public with different user restrictions for the dealership, repurposer, recycler and the Super User. What data would an auto recycler be able to see.

    • Auto Recyclers should be able to scan a battery in an end of life vehicle to determine the health of the battery.

  • Questions arise that is there only the repairable workflow and auto recyclers left out or is there another workflow that is not yet released.

  • Insurance Companies need to look at this so they can be in front of the changes that are going to occur, so they can protect their customers and provide the correct information.

Great meeting everyone! ARA Convention Next Week! Don is on vacation next week, Just kidding.
