Ginny Shared the ARA Standards and Code pdf
This document was created in 2012
There was 10,000+ pamphlets printed and shared through the industry.
This was a joint document between ARA and CIECA.
There is 46 pages of training material.
Does the Committee see a need for this book or should we retire it?
New Logos are needed
There is a need for the information, but it needs to be updated.
We can do a digital document.
Document needs cleaned up and shortened, because people do not look through a lot of information, they like shorter.
Don volunteered to work with Sandy and Ginny to clean up the document and come up with a PDF format that will be available to share.
At this time, ARA does not have an E Commerce committee, the process for committees is to review and assign committees for needed work. At the time of assigning these committee’s, there was no work for E Commerce. So Sandy will have to look at other committees to see if she can work this in.
A number of ARA members has the ARA Standards and Code document on their websites.
CIECA is good with continuing the partnership with this document.
CIC Meeting review
The Aftermarket underlined OE part cant be defined.
The OE (Chevrolet, Ford, etc.) is needed information.
Name, Manufactured part, who distributed is information on parts that help define them. But nobody can agree.
When aftermarket buys new (Surplus) parts from an OE, they are no longer considered OE parts and can’t be sold with that definition.
SAB review of Ad Hoc Committee
We know there is new elements for battery like state of health, stat of change, will battery be one part or a section of parts that can be subdivided?
