Agenda

  • Antitrust Agreement and Meeting minutes acceptance

  • Updates on Value Proposition Document

  • Update on CIC Proposal

  • Review vehicle battery lifecycle workflow.

Meeting Minutes

  • Antitrust agreed upon.

  • Meeting minutes accepted.

  • Discussion of CIECAST Ford EV

    • A few went out and looked at the deposits on the new EV Mustang

    • Noted that Ford is enrolling 2,000+ Dealer owned and Independent shops into the certified repair network.

    • Frunk (Front Trunk) is now a new term in the world.

    • Interesting that the battery and motors will work across models for an OEM.

    • What will the shelf life of a battery be? The warranty is for 100,000/8 Years, but it says it will be 70% battery life remaining.

      • How long will batteries be able to sit without a charge? Will battery degrade?

      • The 100,000 does not hold to the same standards that a non EV vehicle has today.

    • The charging station network and the ability for the vehicles to tell you when they need charged and the stations available and can even tell you if the station is in use.

    • The batteries are best in climate of 70 degrees.

      • Does this mean that storage units for batteries will need to be climate controlled?

  • Industry standards

    • There is a paper to be released in January from battery repurposes.

    • British Columbia is working on standards for the EV battery.

    • Germany is working on standards for the EV battery.

  • There is a tax credit of $7,500 from US government for purchasing an EV vehicle.

  • Will OEM certify end of life?

  • How will the battery that weighs 1500+ pounds be stored, transported?

    • Who will be responsible for transport?

      • Will there be rules by State for DOT to transport?

  • Only OEM that has its own battery is Tesla, the other OEM are removing the battery liability by outsourcing the battery.

  • CIECA

    • Concern that the committees in CIECA are not getting the attendance they should, it always seems that the same people are attending every meeting.

      • The concern that people that have built up CIECA will start retiring and the newer people in the industry is not aware of CIECA.

    • The Strategic plan that is being worked on for 2021 is working at marketing CIECA and to get CIECA more exposure in the Industry.

      • We are working on moving to an Open API/JSON solution and hope to get more people involved in that project and provide companies with new technology.
