Battery Aggregate

  • The team continued development of the BMS for the battery aggregate. There are challenges is accurately defining the different types of batteries in modern cars. EV cars use a matrix of batteries. Need a good way to differentiate EV propulsion batteries from traditional 12v standard car batteries.

 

 

 

Hollander defines EV batteries as Part Type 600:

600 Battery INCLUDES: Hybrid and electric vehicle battery or battery pack. EXCLUDES: 12-volt batteries (interchange does not include standard car batteries at this time). NOTE: Always use (hybrid vehicle) or (electric vehicle) as the description on the index line.

Action items

Need to find a better term to differentiate a battery that is the fuel source versus the accessories / starter battery. (Need to consider there may be different types of EV Battery) Thoughts to consider: Propulsion Battery,
