  • Estimate and Assignment

    • Kicking off the VDI committee to work on the API and Estimate.

    • The CIECA Board would like to offer an Estimate and Assignment API to help the industry have a simple solution and help move away from the EMS.

      • New companies think the BMS is complicated and large, and it is as a whole, but the messages themselves can be as simple as the EMS. This is why we started CIECA Simplified, however, companies are still going to the EMS.

      • Sun discussed at SEMA that they wanted to use the BMS, but it was complicated, so we are going to reach out to them and find out the struggle.

        • We may provide support for new customers.

      • The BMS message is not complicated but companies have implementations that you don’t have to have with the EMS.

        • EMS produce the file and consume the EMS file, but no security protocols and opening ports.

          • A new specification with API still may not solve the lure of EMS.

          • The EMS is available, and you do not have to work with one of the big 3, you can build it without them knowing.
