Stacey has reached out to Apple/Google, and we are in the process of starting a relationship with them.
Looked at Apple’s API documentation and Third-party agreement
Stacey reached out to several OEMs about the Privacy statement and they all agreed to help, however, they would all like to answer questions from the committee.
Committee can come up with a list of questions they have about OEM Privacy.
John Eck with GM did provide the GM Privacy statement to look over to help the committee determine questions.
Question(s) for privacy
State to State has different restrictions on Data Privacy, with California being one of the most restrictive. How do we handle the different restrictions?
Dan Risley or Trent at CIC is on the Data Access Committee, and they may be able to provide this information and it may be part of CIC.
Frank shared a link to all the state privacy legislation for each state. US State Privacy Legislation Tracker
Bob Reading from ASA is legislative Lobbyist for the Automotive Service Association may be a good speaker on this topic for the committee.
Other companies like Verisk like lexisNexis and CCC has a company called Zendrive could also provide information on the data and privacy they use with the OEMs.
The new APIs is capturing a flag for Personal data, maybe this is something we should add to the XML.
Third Party Privacy may be a good panel discussion for CONNEX next year.
Table the Third party Privacy at this time
