ANTITRUST STATEMENT

As participants in this meeting, we need to be mindful of the constraints of antitrust laws. There shall be no discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition. This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning individual prices, rates, coverages, market practices, claims settlement practices, or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. Each participant is obligated to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds.

Agenda

  • Antitrust Agreement and Meeting minutes acceptance

  • Review Changes to Actors for Approval

  • Review definitions and add to Glossary

  • Review Top 5 areas impacted with Actors and see if CIECA messages are impacted and start workflow

  • Review Question Log

Meeting Minutes

  • Antitrust Agreed

  • Meeting Minutes agreed

  • Review https://cieca.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPSC/pages/830603352

    • The Industry Actors were completed, this will be a living document that we will add to as needed.

    • CIECA Industry Segments https://cieca.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PI/pages/758874122 have definitions defined by the Committees they represent. These are not Industry definitions; but the definitions that the committees used to identify the workflows for the committees. The CIC definitions were added to this page, if CIC had a definition to show the industry definition.

    • Ginny provided the definition to Mobility and it has been added to the page.

    • Chuck will look into getting definitions of Mobile Service Providers and Remote Service Providers

  • Workflow discussion

    • Vehicle is in the middle of the workflow

      • should we have a workflow that looks like banner where the vehicle is represented and all of the areas?

        • Repair

        • Insurance

        • Recycling

        • OEM

      • We looked at FNOL workflow as well to show the beginning of the collision/accident workflow.

        • Do we need different Collision/Accident workflows; with the initial action the collision

          • For Collision we would have Total Loss, Drivable and Repairable workflows

        • If we have a Collision/Accident we would need other workflows for Recall, Warranty and Comprehensive

          • Do we start with Vehicle needing repair and roadside assistance of damage or recall, there are many ways to start this workflow.

        • FNOL could be the Owner contacting or could be Telematic system

    • The Committee Agreed that Mechanical and Retail Mechanical were outside of CIECA standards and would be out of scope for this Committee.

    • This Committee is looking at Emerging Technologies, so do we need to worry about the processes that we already have and do we need to worry about vehicles with combustion engines.

      • Discussion if we should cut the process off on Year and Make of a vehicle?

        • Make seemed to be a little too complicated

        • Many cars had Telematics (OnStar) and ADAS capabilities on a vehicle in the early 90s; the capabilities continue to advance, but they were available in the 90s.

          • With features like ADAS we have Version 1 and they continue to increase as the systems evolve.

          • Could ADAS be a milestone marker that we use to determine Emerging Technology?

            • In 2016 ADAS started becoming Standard equipment on vehicles

            • 2018 Honda announced Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) was standard

    • Time Ran short so we are going to start with the discussion on how to identify vehicles into our workflow and how to start the workflow process.

Happy Cinco de Mayo and Great Meeting Everyone
