ANTITRUST STATEMENT

As participants in this meeting, we need to be mindful of the constraints of antitrust laws. There shall be no discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition. This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning individual prices, rates, coverages, market practices, claims settlement practices, or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. Each participant is obligated to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds.

Agenda

  • Antitrust Agreement and Meeting minutes acceptance

  • Updates on Value Proposition Document

  • Update on CIC Proposal

  • Review CIECA workflows and help drive end of life vehicle battery workflow.

Meeting Minutes

  • Antitrust agreed upon

  • Meeting minutes from last meeting accepted

  • Paul has completed the CIECA Board meeting to complete the strategic planning for next year and hopes to now focus on the Value Proposition document and CIC Proposal.

  • Current CIECA workflows are vague and could be used for battery in the CIECA messages, the items that are not captured is the workflow. We have seen the OEM workflow, but the next steps is to determine a workflow that has Auto recyclers.

  • ADAS presented in CIC and gave kudos to CIECA and Charley.

    • The video was presented and our committee members had mixed reviews. It is informative and had good detail, but cartoons is something people don’t pay attention to.

  • Ginny gave an ARA update. ARA is looking into certifications that will help ARA members reflect that they are in the EV market.

    • ARA sees the industry pushing forward quickly in the EV market and wants to make sure they do not fall behind.

  • Tesla has been rumored to reach out to a Salvage supplier, more info to come.

  • This Friday a white paper will be released to provide more information to this committee on EV.

  • Not all Auto Recyclers will want to take part in the EV market.

    • There is a lot of unknowns to how to handle this process.

    • There are areas with very few EV vehicles and transporting EV parts is expensive.

    • Handling EV parts is expensive and not seen to prove a profit.

  • We need to make sure that Auto Recyclers do not purchase a car and then get stuck with expenses of covering end of life battery or other EV parts and materials.

  • There is land for sell in some areas that are full of EV batteries. Who is responsible for the cleaning up of this property? These are the issues that need to be looked at.

  • Develop a new workflow with the OEM battery workflow in mind to point out the holes and areas we need to get answered.

Great meeting everyone. Hope Paul has a theme song rehearsed by the next meeting.
