ANTITRUST STATEMENT

As participants in this meeting, we need to be mindful of the constraints of antitrust laws. There shall be no discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition. This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning individual prices, rates, coverages, market practices, claims settlement practices, or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. Each participant is obligated to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds.

  • EV Battery Lifecycle

    • This committee came up with some very good questions about the EV battery lifecycle and the EV vehicle in previous meetings, however, we do not have the members in these meetings that can help answer these questions. Should we have special meeting that will draw the industry together just to talk about these questions?

      • We should invite OEM’s, CIECA has Rivian and Tesla that are members of CIECA, and we have many OEMs that come to the Emerging Technology Committee meeting.

      • We need to invite Battery Recyclers to the meeting.

    • Topics for the meeting are in the last meeting minutes but a high level is

      • EV battery regulations that protect the claimant

      • EV battery regulations for safety

      • What is the future of the EV Battery and the lifecycle?

      • What is the Shelf Life of an EV battery?

        • Will it require a trickle charge?

      • is the EV battery and EV vehicle a throw away car? How does that impact the environment?

    • We need everyone to reach out and find members of the industry to help participate in this meeting. We know all areas will be impacted from OEM, Insurance, Parts, Repair, recyclers and Salvage.

    • Attendees do not need to be CIECA members.

    • We need a great Tag to get people interested in attending the meeting.

    • Could meeting be a Forum that has planned questions.

      • Stacey would be great help on planning such a meeting, we will talk to her and get some feedback.

    • This meeting will not replace the normal RP&I Committee meeting, it will be a standalone meeting.

Great Meeting Everyone! March 1 was marathon day of meetings, and we gave everyone some time back to catch up and get lunch. Enjoy the week.
