ANTITRUST STATEMENT

As participants in this meeting, we need to be mindful of the constraints of antitrust laws. There shall be no discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition. This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning individual prices, rates, coverages, market practices, claims settlement practices, or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. Each participant is obligated to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds.

  • Reviewed the deprecation of ROE from the CIECA code list

  • Emerging Technology Open forum:

    • OE Procedures will be key to share with everyone for every vehicle.

    • Removal of Battery for Repair and Removal of Battery for Disposal needs to clear on the process.

    • ARA University has 100s of electric car data sheets.

    • Andy Lathem was contracted to identify the information from the OE’s and get that information on the ARA website.

    • ARA documentation does allow access to the latest models and will have to continue to be updated regularly with all the new models.

    • Recyclers need easy way to get the information for Repair and disposal of battery.

      • Do we need a new message or store a link to the OE Procedures in a current message?

      • Can the vehicle itself give this information to the Recyclers?

      • Do we need a new Actor for Vehicle?

        • What information will a vehicle supply and is it different based on who it is communicating with?

    • EV total loss will be what recyclers will be part of, does this include unsupported?

      • How do we get total loss person information before they start to dismantle?

      • Can tech scan information from vehicle?

      • Auto recyclers don’t have problem handling the Electric vehicles or the battery, but they don’t want to be stuck with batteries or elements that are not marketable.

      • Progressive recyclers will make it work.

    • Mishandling an electric vehicle or battery could mean death and more serious for EMT and Repairs and Recyclers than previous models.

    • Lifespan of EV

      • From previous information gathered, the damage to electric vehicles are more serious than previous models, will electric vehicles be more Total loss and replace car than repair?

      • Today’s vehicles are on the road for many years and can be maintained, with battery packs, how long will a car with normal maintenance survive?

        • It is projected that these will be 100 year lifespan vehicles.

  • RP&I Committee

    • We need to get more people involved in the RP&I Committee.

      • As part of the new Emerging Technology Data Standards Committee, we hope this will bring people to our other committees and there will be items for each team to work on based on the Emerging Technology Data Standards Committee.

    • CIECA Training

      • ARA primary focus is training.

      • CIECA has CIECAST that helps share knowledge of the industry with all segments, but it is not training.

      • CIECA has thought about putting together a training for developers to use the CIECA standards, but this would be focused on development and not an industry training.

    • Meeting Occurance

      • With the Emerging Technology Data Standards committee starting up that discusses most of the information that we discuss in these meetings, should we continue to have these meeting weekly?

        • It was decided that these meetings would be updated to once a month on the first Tuesday of the month.
