This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning individual prices, rates, coverages, market practices, claims settlement practices, or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. Minutes

  • The Antitrust statement was read and the meeting minutes were accepted.

  • Quarterly newsletter: The Q4 newsletter had a 22% open rate, which is our highest so far.

    • BMS Spotlight Article: Axalta, Claim Genius, OEC and Tractable have all shown interest in being featured in a member BMS Spotlight Article.

    • CIECA article/newsletter ideas:

      • Kelly suggested writing an article that includes information from CIECA’s explainer video. We could use highlights from Paul’s CIC presentation. Stacey will follow up.

      • We will include information in future newsletters about the technical advancements being made in CIECA’s committees.

      • Don E. suggested including a list of new members. Stacey will move up that section in the newsletter for more visibility and link to the new member announcement on the website. The company names are currently at the bottom of the newsletter and likely getting missed.

      • Ginny suggested writing an article about member associations' involvement with CIECA.

  • Ginny asked if the ARA logo on the website could be enlarged. Sandy will send a different logo.

  • CIECA Committee Meetings Kickoff

    • This month, CIECA will hold committee meetings. In the past, semi-annual committee meetings were held. We transitioned to including that information in the technical CIECA webinars. SAB committee chairs were asked if they have any pain points that they need addressed. Due to CIECA’s API Standards initiative, we will bring back the meetings. Paulette talked about the meetings being structured to be more in line with the website and focused on “products” rather than “committees” since many committees are involved with the same message(s).

    • Paulette created a Power Point Presentation to educate new attendees during the committee meetings. It will be given if there are new people joining the calls.

  • Ginny asked if we record the attendance of those who come to the meetings. If a person is not attending the meetings, Paulette will ask if they would like to be removed from the mailing list.

  • Ginny also asked if we are getting the right people to attend the committee meetings and we shared that we’ve had a good turn out of those interested.

  • Ginny asked what CIECA’s relationship is with CIC. We explained that CIECA was formed out of a CIC committee but they are separate organizations and CIECA is responsible for creating standards. We also said that Paul and Paulette sit on CIC committees to stay informed about what is going on and we ensure that if there is a topic not related to standards, we share it with CIC.

  • CIECAST Webinars 2022

    • Frank Terlep provided input about how to tie back CIECA to CIECAST webinars.

      • He recommends that every CIECACast presentation requires a slide or two on how CIECA can/should be involved in the process/solutions in the presentations. For example, in the last presentation from Repairify, they could have had a slide or two to explain to the attendees on how CIECA is/or could help the industry solve the problem of ADAS identification OR how ADAS identification data could be shared VIA CIECA standards.

      • Kelly said this would be very valuable. The presenter might have to be coached but it would be time well spent. Paul, Paulette or someone from CIECA could also prompt a discussion, ask questions along these lines and/or share information about what CIECA is doing in a particular area covered in the presentation. Phil agreed to tie back to CIECA.

  • Ginny asked who uses CIECA Standards: Paulette said we know who are members and we’ve helped some members with implementations. Once the implementations are complete, we don’t know who is using the standards.

Great meeting. Thank you everyone for your input!
