ANTITRUST STATEMENT

As participants in this meeting, we need to be mindful of the constraints of antitrust laws. There shall be no discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition. This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning individual prices, rates, coverages, market practices, claims settlement practices, or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. Each participant is obligated to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds.

Minutes

  • The Antitrust statement was read and the meeting minutes were accepted.

  • The storyboard for the Level 1 CIECA explainer video was shared with the committee. Here were the comments/input:

    • Here are some comments that the Education Committee provided during the meeting yesterday:

      • Scene #1: Add wording underneath each icon. Possibly change umbrella logo since it is similar to one insurance company’s logo. Maybe incorporate a contract.

      • Scene #2: Add color to people at the table if possible and/or don’t show their arms.

      • Scene #3: Add “Body Shop” so it reads, “ABC Body Shop” on building.

      • Scene #3B: Change “he” to “they” in text.

      • Scene #3B: What does top icon represent?

      • Scene #4: Same comment as above regarding people at table.

      • Scene #4B: The hands of the person with the computer at the table look like they are coming through the table. The person at the top looks like his/her hand is going through table.

      • Scene #4B: Same comment as above in regard to umbrella logo.

      • Scene #4B: Use straight lines or arrows rather than jagged lines.

      • Since #5: Add wording underneath icons.

      Questions: 

      Is there an additional cost to use another color? If not, maybe add a highlight color in some of the scenes.

      Is the blue used based on CIECA’s color palette?

  • Review draft of Level 2 video: We played the video Paul created as a Level 2 CIECA video. Paul is going to work on creating 2-3 shorter videos based on the information from this video. Comments provided by committee:

    • Maybe provide an explanation of what a standard is.

    • Divide “What is a Standard?” slide into four separate slides.

    • Spell out EMS and BMS the first time.

  • CIECA new website: Paul talked about the rationale for the new website and showed how the CIECA standards will be classified as products. Website will provide a description of products and members can log in to see details. Committee really liked new direction of website and validated approach. Ginny said it was a good education tool for the industry and Don suggested adding a teaser like a movie trailer, “What’s in a standard?”
