Ginny said it was very interesting and she took copious notes and listened to it again because he touched on a lot of things.
June: Options
Chuck Olsen and Josh McFarlin from AirPro Diagnostics reached out to present at CONNEX and Stacey asked if there was interest presenting during a webinar. Josh is available and Chuck was away until yesterday. Hoping to get confirmation today or tomorrow so we can discuss subject material. Ginny said it would be interesting to hear about about their use/input on OE in their API.
CCC offered to give a “state of the industry” presentation. We have a meeting set up to discuss. Don said we can ask about what is taking place in legislation. Ginny suggested they talk about how they are using AI.
Michael Giarrizzo, DCR Systems, had reached out previously to present during CONNEX and we invited him to set up a meeting to discuss his ideas to present during a webinar. He is a CIECA member, on the SCRS board and developed a claims portal. Don said that Michael used to be on State Farm’s DRP and wondered what his thoughts were on being a single entity repair facility and whether that’s going to last or go away with consolidation taking place.
Upcoming:
Josh Thompson from GM Onstar is interested in presenting later on in the year.
Greg Peeters, Car ADAS Solutions is also interested in resenting later on in the year. During last meeting, Sandy suggested Greg talk about the tooling and testing equipment in shops. Don said that he could discuss the scanning tools used to ensure parts are functioning and communicate to the other systems. Phil suggested he give a high level talk about the integration of the data elements and the documentation done. Paul said these were in line with the conversation we had with Greg about the total process, the integration points and the potential for integration. Don also asked if there is consistent terminology used.
During the last meeting, we talked about having Chris Chesney, Repairify, present: Chris has experience working with OEMs and focusing on future technologies. He is also on the board for the NASTF.
Mike Hastings provided a list of technical contacts. Paulette has been trying to connect with an individual from Postman who we had a meeting set up with previously that was canceled.

Don said we could ask him to talk about the infrastructure for the charging stations and how that will develop. Paul said it would be great if they could share a big picture view of what is going on and what they are doing in regard to charging because it’s obviously an obstacle to broad adoption. They could also talk about the technology, ADAS features, that will have to be repaired. Finny suggested including insight about the total loss of a Rivian and what will happen with the information in it.

He suggested having the presentations back-to-back.

Rebranding of Education Committee
We’re very grateful for the support of the committee members and appreciate Don, Sandy, Ginny and others helping us pull together the CONNEX agenda. Over the years, we’ve found the focus of the committee has changed from education to finding speakers and planning webinars and the annual conference, so we were thinking of renaming the committee to reflect the current focus. Paul said that we appreciate the faithfulness from Don, Sandy and Ginny attending but it seems like others no longer attend the meetings. We are thinking of rebranding it to be amore accurate depiction of what the committee actually does. Don said it would be wise to reach out to younger up and coming individuals to join the committee and participate. Sandy agreed with Don and suggested bringing in the new generation on board to get involved and share ideas. Ginny agreed as well and said that it would be great to have people on the committee that see themselves actively leading it in 2040, 2050 and beyond.
Great meeting everyone. Thank you for your participation. Have a great week!
