Meeting Minutes
Everyone was welcomed to the meeting. The antitrust was read and agreed upon. The minutes from previous meetings were approved. Paulette introduced herself to the team and they welcomed her! The focus of the meeting was the CIECAst schedule. Andy’s presentation on 2020R1 was excellent. The registrants were 130+, where previous technical CIECAst registrants were approximately 30. Marketing for CARSTAR was started yesterday. Again, the webinar is focused on the topic of OEM certifications and their importance. Stacey has given Connor Smith the updates from the Calibration Committee’s meeting focusing on where to locate OEM procedures on their websites, and to note the frustration from repairers on locating these documents. September’s topic remains open, and she has been working to secure an OEM to talk about EVs. She has a list of OEMs that she can reach out to. Ford was a contact but never returned the multiple calls and emails. The group agreed to go to GM next, then possibly Toyota. She will continue to work on gaining a presenter. October is set for David Willet and Mike Anderson to present about cybersecurity. Stacey will reaffirm with David on the date. November is now planned to have the topic being JSON for the technical session. Kim said to contact Andy and he would provide a name for a potential presenter. Due to Andy’s current schedule, Charley will contact him in a few weeks. Next year’s theme was discussed. It was agreed that Paul and possibly EC/board members from different industry segments would talk about CIECA’s future direction. Following that would be the technologies that were covered during the CIC Disruptive Technologies presentation by Frank Terlep and Jake Rodenroth. All agreed to have that theme for a number of CIECAst presentations. It was then agreed to ask Frank and Jake to give their presentation for the September CIECAst. Stacey will contact them. Agreement was on a standard Power Point slide deck for our presenters. This is the practice for both CIC and SCRS. Ed suggested the last slides that have been repeated after the presentation for several CIECAsts be replaced by a cameo with the topic being about CIECA. All were in agreement. The standardization of the date and time for the CIECAst presentations was discussed. It was agreed that the third Tuesday at 11 AM CST would be continued. If the speaker is unable to make that day/time, it would be attempted to schedule it that week. Great meeting! |
