CIECA Message(s):
Appointment Services to schedule an appointment for Glass inspection, Glass Repair, Glass Replacement, Tow, Estimate, or Rental.
Background
The Appointment Committee objective is to electronically exchange messages and schedule appointments for inspections, repairs, dispatch, rentals, and other activities relating to the repairs.
The emphasis is on improving customer service in the inspection and repair process being stressed by all segments of the industry.
The Appointment Committee was once the CIECA Scheduling Committee. In an effort to align the Standards Development Committees with the CIECA Products, the name has been changed to Appointment Committee.
Mission
CIECA’s Appointment Committee’s goal is to develop messaging standards and codes aimed at automating scheduling activities. Standards will benefit insurers, independent appraisal services, repairers, tow facilities, car rental agencies, fleet companies, salvors, and vehicle owners in expediting scheduling of services.
All business needs will be identified to enable the scheduling of activities to move electronically between parties. Having standards enables the scheduling process to incorporate awareness of business partners’ capacity.
Consumers demand a more convenient process when scheduling appointments, repairs, and related activities. Setting standards is the first step toward this goal.
