Referral Committee

Thank you to the industry volunteers who joined the CIECA Referral Committee kick-off meeting today to discuss potential changes that need to be made as the new CIECA API Standards (CAPIS) are written. The committee is being chaired by Kim DeVallance Caron, Enterprise, a long-time member of CIECA's Board of Trustees and past chair of the organization.

Committee members who took part in the virtual meeting today included John Eck, General Motors; Kim DeVallance Caron, Chris Poulos, IAA; James Palmer, Innovation Group North America; Dan Webster, Enlyte; Paulette Reed, CIECA's technical project manager; Jason Hope, Boyd Group Services Inc.; Sascha Simon and Ari Valtanen, Sfara; and David McCreight, Collision Resources Inc.

Calibration Commtitee

CIECA is reactivating its Calibration Committee to work on new projects brought forth by collision industry stakeholders. Darrell Amberson, LaMettry's Collision®, Glass and More, is the committee chair. 
 
The first meeting is Thursday, October 13, at 8 am PT/10 am CT/11 am ET. All segments of the industry, including CIECA and non-CIECA members, are invited to attend.

Reminder to industry

On October 20, CIECA's Architecture Committee, chaired by Dan Webster, Enlyte, will provide an in-depth analysis of CIECA’S next generation of JSON-based CIECA API Standards (CAPIS), and how they will be structured.

Paulette Reed, CIECA's technical project manager, will also discuss the updates made to the second standards release of the year, the 2022R2, which will be available to members on October 19.

Red Carpet Awards

CIECA will announce its 2022 award winners at the 5th gathering of the Collision Industry Red Carpet Awards Breakfast, held during the upcoming SEMA Show.

The free event will take place Wednesday, November 2 from 7-9 am in the Upper South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center in room S233. Seating for breakfast will be on a first come, first served basis, and will be limited to 200 available seats.

The breakfast, funded by BodyShop Business and the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS), is being emceed by Jeff Peevy, AMAM, I-CAR.

Awards will be given out by BodyShop Business, CIECA, the Collision Repair Education Foundation, I-CAR, the National Auto Body Council, Thomas Greco Publishing Inc. and SCRS.
