Agenda
Committee Welcome
Introduction to CIECA Standards
Meeting Minutes
Brian provided an overview of Origami
Origami started in the Insurance space and is expanding to the carrier space (rental car companies).
They are looking to implement messages with minimal rework.
Paulette and Stacey gave an overview of CIECA standards
CIECA Standards were developed so our members would not have to rework messages when they went to implement with other segments of the industry.
CIECA has committees with members throughout the Collision Industry that help to create the standards in data and implementations.
CIECA in the last year has started working on a redesign of CIECA.com, which used to have all of the Standards in folders based off the committees that worked with them. The new CIECA.com is working off the services provided (Assignment, Authorization, FNOL etc.)
CIECA Committees that are currently active are the Architecture and Emerging Technologies Committee. We are kicking off the OEM Repair Procedures Committee in the next month and the AI Committee and the 3D printing Committees being kicked off in the following months.
CIECA has to release(s) a year. Currently they are XML based BMS releases.
The most current release was April 20, 2022, and the next release is planned for October 2022.
CIECA gets proposals/request from the industry and does analysis and notified all impacted CIECA Committees of the request, when the request has been approved through the CIECA Committee(s), it is reviewed and approved by the Standards Advisor Board Committee and the Architecture Committee.
The High-level information of the release changes is shared through the release marketing. We also have a CIECACST that is technical after each release to go over the changes to the collision industry.
