Meeting Minutes

  • Needs for Committee

    • What does the Recycled Parts and Inventory Committee need to be doing for CIECA with the EV?

      • We need to identify any new messages that CIECA may need to help transfer data in the EV lifecycle.

      • We need to identify any data that may need to be sent through new or current CIECA messages to help in the repair and end of life of an EV and battery.

      • In CIECA messages if the current PartInfo handles the data needs by adding new code list, this committee could add the new code list necessary.

      • As with all request and recommendations, the Standards would be reviewed by all the impacted committees and the SAB and Architecture committees.

      • State of Health of the battery is one new data element that may need to be added.

      • A Tag or Serial Number of Part may need to be entered. It has been discussed that the batter is going to be its own element and not part of the vehicle and would have its own Serial number. Also discussed that Blockchain would track batteries.

        • We looked into the current BMS and PartInfo does not have a tag or serial number, it has a PartNum only.

      • CIECA has a good foundation to the messages and the data that will be needed to move forward with the repairs of the EV and the battery, we just need to stay on top of the data and decide what will be required for the EV.

  • We watched the GM link above, Ginny had to narrated because the sound was not working.

    • This is a new concept of an EV battery that GM and Honda have joined together to work on, this would allow different panels to be used based off the needs of the vehicle. A smaller vehicle may only require 6 panels, where a truck that needs larger hauling capability would require 24 panels.

    • This would be different than the other concepts of a battery, would this mean panels could be replaced to extend the life of the battery and not the entire battery?

  • Rivian spotting

    • Paulette and Paul both seen a Rivian truck in use in the past two days.

    • Rivian is following the Tesla No Dealership approach to selling vehicles is done online and they can be shipped or picked up.
