ANTITRUST STATEMENT

As participants in this meeting, we need to be mindful of the constraints of antitrust laws. There shall be no discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition. This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning individual prices, rates, coverages, market practices, claims settlement practices, or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. Each participant is obligated to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds.

Chair: Don Porter

Minutes

  • The Antitrust statement was read and the meeting minutes were accepted.

  • Quarterly newsletter: There will be two main articles.

    • BMS Spotlight article: We’ve reached out to potentially profile the following companies that have shown interest in being featured: Wurth, Entegral, Allstate, Car-Part.com and Retyrn. Phil suggested reaching out to Michelle at Mitchell to find out interest in participating.

    • An article about CIECA API Standards will also be included in the newsletter.

  • CIECA Webinars 2022

    • Frank Terlep’s comments: Ideally, every CIECAST presentation would require a slide or two on how CIECA can/should be involved in the process/solutions in the presentations.

For example, in the last presentation from Repairify, they could have used a slide or two to explain to the attendees on how CIECA is/or could help the industry solve the problem of ADAS identification OR how ADAS identification data could be shared VIA CIECA standards.

    • Non-technical webinars:

      • January: Susanna Gotsch, CCC Intelligent Solutions, will be presenting

      • February: Kyle Weber, State Farm, will be presenting about blockchain.

      • March: Brandon Laur, CCi Global Technologies, will present about data security and privacy.

      • April: 2022 R1 + Executive Committee Share Accomplishments/ Strategic Direction: Phil liked the idea of sharing the strategic direction of CIECA, including information about the JSON initiative and lobby for participation. Paul will add the idea to the executive committee agenda.

      • We discussed having Lemonade, Tesla and GM talk about new types of insurance models being offered.

      • Ginny shared information about Partners for Automated Vehicle Education (PAVE). Stacey will share the link Ginny provided for the committee: https://pavecampaign.org/event/pave-virtual-panel-reimagining-vehicle-design-for-the-autonomous-age/.

      • We decided to hold the next committee meeting in January.

(big grin) Great meeting. Thank you everyone for your input!
