Meeting Minutes
The antitrust agreement was read and the minutes were approved.
CIECA EMS/BMS/JSON graphics
Paul created EMS/BMS/JSON graphics for the website and social media. Kim said they looked great and Kelly agreed. She suggested removing the wording underneath.
CIC/SCRS flyer ideas
Kim suggested we showcase CAPIS on a future flyer and include a call to action inviting the industry to get involved in their creation. Kelly suggested we could also include what CIECA does as an educational piece. eg Are you in insurance or rental? Get involved, join the fun. Paul says this would serve CIECA’s mission to educate.
CIECA Webinar renaming
We talked about changing the word “CIECAST” because it’s confusing to pronounce and use CIECA Webinar. We asked the committee if there were any objections. Although it’s not an original name, Kelly said that it’s clear and people will understand immediately what it is. Kim agreed.
2023 Goal 1: Outreach to technical contacts/tradeshows of interest
One of the goals this year is to reach out to more technical contacts. Paul reached out to members to find out the technical contact at their company so we can build a more comprehensive mailing list in the CRM. We asked the committee about upcoming tradeshows technical contacts might attend and Kim mentioned Insure-Tech. We will also reach out to Bill Brower, Solera, for ideas.
2023 Goal 2: How to promote members
In addition to members joining CIECA for access to standards, many members are looking to network. We asked the committee for additional ideas to promote members eg cobranding
We were thinking of creating a one-page value proposition document on how to get the most from your CIECA membership. We asked the committee to give it some thought.
Support Tech Forum
Paul & Paulette created a user’s forum on the website. We’d like members to continue using it as we create new standards.
CONNEX
Kelly and Jeff came up with the Connected Car, Connected Industry theme during our last conference committee meeting. Paul designed a graphic based on the comments from that meeting. He will design an additional graphic for sponsors and speakers with hotel information and dates.
The Save the Date Announcement will be sent out today. Kelly suggested adding that registration information will be shared soon and Jeff agreed.
Jeff and Kim both felt that the sooner we can get out the call for speakers information out the better.
We then went through the CONNEX Communications plan. Our first goal is to plan an engaging agenda that appeals to both a business and technical audience and increase attendance from last year by 10%. Our second goal is to share information about CAPIS and encourage committee involvement. We will plan to compile a list of those who are interested in getting involved. Our third goal is to attract 16 or more sponsors. We are hoping to attract more Gold sponsors who are given a booth at the show. Paul is going to find out the location at the hotel where the booths will be set up. Jeff asked if we could define the value of being a Gold sponsor and having a booth. Paul mentioned that new companies that want to share information might find value from having a booth but a booth is not for everyone. Jeff also asked who the target audience is for the conference. Paul said we are targeting those who straddle the IT and business side of their organization. eg business analysts, product managers, and project managers. Realistically, we probably won’t have developers. Many times, organizations don’t want to take a chance that their developers will be poached. Last year, Jeff brought some company representatives he referred to as “digital ignitors,” who really enjoyed the event.
We also talked about creating information to share with the industry “How to get to Bloomington.”
Our next step is to reach out to Rivian’s marketing team regarding the tour.
