Prerequisites to Calibration and workflow Document:
Need to add Payload
It's amazing about the amount of stuff people leaves in a vehicle when it is being repaired
Fuel Level and all liquid levels for some OEMs
Best Practices, if you are calibrating a vehicle, you should make sure the alignment is correct, there could be preexisting damage that the owner was unaware of before the repair that the technician is working on.
Best Practices Sequence Document may be needed.
Best Practices Bare minimum: the OEM will have procedures in the repair procedures and the Calibration Tools and software have checklist, but how do you share these have been completed as requested.
Tire pressure and Size is important, if a vehicle has been lifted or added oversize tires there will need to be different specifications on the calibration.
In order to calibrate a car, you have to validate or verify that vehicles alignment is within factory specifications.
Battery maintenance has to be completed before we go into calibration.
If a car has anything out of factory specification, it should not be calibrated until that is corrected.
Do we need a document to attach to the estimates to show the steps before calibration?
Does the software provide a download to show what steps are necessary by the industry? No Technicians take pictures.
If the Software and OEM procedure is different, how do you decide what is best and or do both?
Does this document need to be a stand alone document or do we need to add the prerequistes to the flowchart? We need to know what we are trying to accomplish with the document.
Chuck will take a look at the prerequistes and flowchart for the next meeting and see how/if they can be merged.
ADAS Calibration Flowchart and Videos
The Flowcharts were created in the CIECA Calibration committee and are hosted under the CIECA Committee Workflow page and on cieca.com under Standards section. CIECA Industry Documentation
Can we make the flowchart driven by user response? This would mean that a user can select No and only see that path and we can add links to the prerequisites with more information?
Virtual Tour of a calibration for the committee
There is a virtual calibration on ICAR that is around 15 minutes long.
The prerequisite may take hours before the calibration, and we will not see that in the video.
We may need to have a list of all the things that were done in the prerequisite to go over.
👥 Great Meeting. Make sure to check out the links in the meeting notes to find the supporting documents.
