ANTITRUST STATEMENT

As participants in this meeting, we need to be mindful of the constraints of antitrust laws. There shall be no discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition. This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning individual prices, rates, coverages, market practices, claims settlement practices, or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. Each participant is obligated to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds.

  • The Antitrust statement was read and the meeting minutes were accepted.

  • CIECAST Webinars 2023

    • February: Andy Boyd from 3M is scheduled to present on February 23 about the Connected Body Shop, similar to his CONNEX presentation.

    • March: Ryan Taylor, AMP Bureau, is scheduled to present and we will be meeting with him to discuss the webinar’s focus.

    • April: We will have a technical presentation in April and include information about the 2023R1, how the Architecture flattened things and built claims. Paulette said that hopefully more of the parts and procurement will be done and information about how we’ve moved from the BMS can be shared during the presentation. Paul passed on information about Smart Bear and Stacey reached out to Dan, Mike and Andy to ask for suggestions on guest speakers. Mike provided a variety of names who can talk about Open APIs. Paulette suggested having them share best practices.

    • Upcoming

      • We reached out to Susanna Gotsch but she is retiring and CCC said that another speaker would likely be able to present later in the year.

      • Greg Peeters, Car ADAS Solutions: We have a meeting set up to discuss topics.

      • 3D printing: Stacey contacedt Formalabs and followed up with Wurth.

      • AR/VR: Jeff Peevy, I-CAR, and Jake Rodenroth, Lucid Motors offered to share information. Ginny suggested they present at CONNEX and the committee agreed. We could possibly have three presenters share what they are doing individually and then have all three answer questions.

      • Chris Miller from Repairify is interested in potentially speaking and we are setting up a meeting.

      • EV Batteries: Stacey reaching out to contacts on the list provided by ARA. Ginny will provide information about a company that has started printing 3D batteries. Stacey will reach out and cc Ginny. Ginny mentioned reaching out to Redwood. She also suggested we reach out to an organization called NAATBATT.

      • Cerebrum X: Stacey talked to after SEMA and he might be able to share information about their relationship with Ford and the sharing of data.

      • OEM insurance: Stacey reached out to Lemonade, Tesla and GM. Ginny mentioned contacting Hyundai.

      • Don had previously suggested having CIECA members share information during a webinar about their use of standards and how it changed their businesses. We talked about the best way to have presenters share information. Paulette suggested having Car-Part.com and/or Mitchell share information about how they are using the new standards in their business.

  • CONNEX Presenters 2023

    • Sean Carey is confirmed to speak.

    • We are talking to Tanya Sweetland from OEC, recommended by Ken Eagleson, about a presentation topic.

    • We reached out to the Rivian communications team and they are looking for a conference speaker.

    • We reached out to Ed Mondragon from State Farm regarding a speaker.

    • We talked about some of the keynote speakers suggested and the Paul suggested we make sure there is a tie in with automotive.

    • We will reach out to J.D. Power recommended by Ken Eagleson.

    • Jay Perry sent in a speaking proposal about leadership.

    • Chuck Olsen and John McFarlin from AirPro Diagnostics both offered to present about diagnostics.

    • We are meeting with CMT to see if Ted Gramer can present.

    • We are looking for someone to potentially present about cybersecurity.

    • Don suggested we reach out to Brandon Lauer from CCi and Paul said that he is a good speaker and might be able to share new content. We could also ask him to be part of a panel discussion on PII/data. Don said we could have a panel discussion and include information about security protocols.

    • Stacey reached out to board members, new media sources, Bill Brower and Stephen Applebaum/Alan Demurs for suggestions of those on the insurance side of the business to speak.

    • Stacey filled out online form for the Department of Transportation re: speakers as well as Electrify America.

    • We would like to have the OEMs participate. We already reached out to Rivian and can talk to Ford as well. There are also non-traditional OEMs we can reach out to.

    • Ginny is going to send some ideas re: connected cars.

    • I-CAR is local and offered to present about preparing technicians with ADAS and EV research and training. Don suggested we ask I-CAR to talk about the repairability of vehicles and how it is going to impact the industry.

    • Don suggested having someone local from State Farm present.
