Agenda

  • Review New Flow Chart and questions on new documentation plan

Meeting Minutes

  • The new flow chart seemed to be very busy and confusing, but after reviewing the old flow chart, it started to grow on the committee.

    • The numbering will be removed in the future, but was left in the flow so we could compare back to the original documentation.

    • The overall view is seen to be helpful, but breaking the flows apart to make it simpler will benefit.

      • The new direction of the CIECA webpage it to break out each message into its own implementation document. The previous documentation was focused on all implementations of grouped messages in one document. So breaking up the flow chart will follow this concept in documentation.

  • The old flow chart in the implementation document had arrows that did not seem to make sense.

    • The documentation is from 2009 and there was items added on ‘How you could use’ a message. Some of these theories were never implemented, so we need to resolve theory and reality to have a clean flow chart.

    • One question was on Arrow 5 and does Rental status work with information provider? The Rental Status can be used as a referral based from the repair order from the shop and then rental would request an authorization from the insurance company; but no known Rental to IP is known. IP also does not send a rental add; so in arrow 5, we need to remove Rental Add.

  • Flowcharts for Rental Status will be done prior to next meeting to review with committee. Due to CIECA working on new website, others may be completed for review as well.

  • There is not much communication with Vehicle owner in the CIECA flow.

    • Insurance customers like to control the communication with the customer.

    • Each provider will have different levels of communication with the customer, however, rental and repair shops as well as insurance will communicate with the customer based on apps. These CIECA messages may cause an update to the app that will notify the vehicle owner.

  • The versions of the implementation Guides have not been revised since 2009, we need to look at the relevance of this documentation and validate that it is still accurate.

  • Survey questions

    • This committee proposed a survey to CIECA members to see how the Repair messages were being used in the industry and if there was any issues with those implementations that we needed to look at.
