CIECA Message(s):

Location Services (Rental Office Inquiry, Rental Office)

Background

The Location Committee’s objective is to electronically exchange messages relating to finding a location for a service in the collision industry.

The Location Committee originated from the Rental Committee. CIECA Standards Development Committees were originally created to solve a problem in the industry and the naming of the committees did not align with the Products. CIECA has moved the Product Standards Committees to be in line with eh CIECA Products. The Rental Committee was renamed Location Committee since the Rental Committee was the sole calibrators for Location Product.

Mission

CIECA’s Location Committee’s goal is to develop and maintain messaging standards aimed at automating vehicle rental activities.  Input was derived from insurance carriers, car rental companies, repairers, business management systems, third party intermediaries and software companies regarding all communications needed to find a location message within the collision industry.

To develop and maintain messaging standards and codes aimed at receiving and recording repair related scans for after the accident for assignment.
