Minutes

  • Antitrust statement was read and the meeting minutes were acceptedCommittee Chairs(s): Education Committee Chair Kathy Goddard has not attended regular meetings and Don Porter offered to assist. An email was sent to all Education Committee members inviting them to co-chair and no responses were received. Stacey will reach out to Don to confirm he will chair future meetings.

  • Video update: Prior to holding a video demo meeting, Stacey reached out to video companies to negotiate price. YDRAW was the only company that brought down its price to meet CIECA’s budget. Paul, Paulette and Stacey met with the YDRAW project manager on 3/17 prior to the Education Committee meeting. The company seems organized and a good candidate for what we are looking for in our price range. The decision was made to go ahead with YDRAW. No demo meeting is needed in light of this decision.

  • Newsletter: The committee was shown final draft of quarterly newsletter. We discussed adding the website link for the new member companies that have agreed to be listed. Kelly noted that the wording at the bottom of newsletter alludes to the newsletter having the capability to be shared. Stacey will delete that reference and keep social media links

  • Video script: The first draft of the video script created by YRDAW was shared with the committee for input and will be emailed to all Education and Marketing Committee members for comment.

  • 2021 CIECAST Webinars Update:

    • March 25 - Mitchell, Tractable and Claims Genius will present about claims automation. About 300 registered.

    • April - 2021R1: This will be one of two technical webinars held during the year. Paulette noted that updates will be given during webinar from Salvage & Architecture Committees regarding updates. An update will also be given about API StandardsReed will present and Dan Webster will contribute if he can.

    • May - Safelite will present on glass repair. The committee suggested having the company share information about the technology involved in repairing a windshield in respect to ADAS systems, as well as the training needed. Stacey will send Stacey sent Brady Bonner a list of possible topics to cover and will follow up to confirm speaker.

    • June - CCC & Solera showed interest in presenting about claims automation following the announcement about the March 25 webinar. We will have a Part 2 webinar on this subject in June.

    CONNEX

    • Final graphic-The Save the Date announcement was sent out.

    • Paul gave a demo of ZoHo Backstage-a conference planning platform in ZoHo. He has set up the conference agenda and information using this tool and we will be able to share it with members and the industry to assist with planning, communication and logistics. There is a broadcast capability to record sessions and it is mobile friendly. Paul also shared the new website look he is creating in ZoHo.

    • Monthly CIECA CONNEX Conference planning meetings will continue. The next one is March 30.

    • MC: Unfortunately, Bill is not able to attend the conference due to NABC conflict. Committee suggested reaching out to Charley Quirt. Conference planning committee will be notified and asked for input as well.

    • Advertising: A CIECA member company asked if we offer advertising opportunities other than sponsorships. This will be discussed during conference planning meeting.

    • Potential presenters

    • Presentation ideas:

Dustin suggested having a motivational speaker who is a former Chicago Bear

Stacey and Paul will meet with CCC and Solera to discuss content. Since AI is a hot topic now, the committee felt that it might be best to split the time between the two companies and have the webinar shortly following the Mitchell webinar and not waiting too long. It was suggested to potentially have a longer CIECAST webinar (90 minutes) but the committee cautioned that we might lose some attendees if it runs longer than an hour.

    • Information Privacy — CIECA member Brandon Laur, CCI, offered to speak about information privacy during an upcoming CIECAST and/or CONNEX. The committee was very supportive of the idea and felt that it might be best to have the CIECAST following CONNEX. Although there will be some overlap, there is a different audience for the webinar vs. the conference. Phil was supportive of inviting Brandon to join CIECA’s Ad Hoc Information Privacy Committee.

  • CONNEX

    • The “Save the Date” and the Sponsors & Call for Speakers announcements were both sent out to the industry.

    • The conference website Paul created using ZoHo Backstage was shared with the committee. Kelly asked when the registration page will go live. Paul shared the pricing information and the committee felt we could go live now with early-bird pricing of $350 and then decide if we charge $400 or $450. Sponsors, presenters and the media will receive a complimentary registration. The committee also discussed having one price for both members and non-members.

  • Potential presenters: The CONNEX potential speakers document was shared with the committee.

    • BIG 3 Future State: The committee felt this was a broad topic and should be narrowed down.

    • Motivational speaker: The committee felt we should reach out to Chuck Searles at AMi to see if he has input on a speaker.

  • (big grin) Great meeting. Thank you everyone!
