This prohibition includes the exchange of information concerning individual prices, rates, coverages, market practices, claims settlement practices, or any other competitive aspect of an individual company’s operation. Each participant is obligated to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds.

    • Focus on representing a different segment each month

  • Update on CIECA video (script, survey, Marketing Committee input)

  • Newsletter feedback

  • CONNEX Conference - theme? agenda, NABC gifting, MC, etc.

  •

Minutes

  • Antitrust statement was read and the meeting minutes were accepted

  • We discussed the first four CIECAST webinars for 2021

    • January - EV Revolution: Steve suggested we incorporate information about CIECA messages/tie in the topic to CIECA. A meeting will be held with the presenters to discuss content.

    • February - JSON initiative: Paul shared that this webinar will lay out the groundwork to the industry about JMS and begin to reinvigorate the committees.

    • March - Mitchell: Mitchell has offered to present about glass repair. They preferred that Safelite didn’t co-present. Steve and Don Porter suggested asking if there is a specific reason that prefer not to share the stage. Stacey and Paul will talk to MitchellFebruary 25 - Open API CIECAST which will inform the industry of the work we are doing and how it will benefit the industry.

      • Paul to give overview.

      • Andy will give technical background and why JSON.

      • Paulette will go over committee and process.

    • March 25 - Mitchell: Mitchell had offered in the past to discuss glass repair, but now that they have partnered with Tractable, they mentioned a claims automation focus.

      • Make sure that it remains non-promotional.

      • Include Phil in the conversations and meetings.

    • April - 2021R1: This will be one of two technical webinars held during the year.

  • Paul gave an overview of the CIECA video project, which was on hold until there was clarity around CIECA’s vision and strategy. Paul wrote a draft script for the explainer video and Stacey will send it to the committee to review. Paul said the goal is to keep the video to 3 minutes.

  • We briefly discussed CONNEX and whether it would move forward this year. Paul is assuming it will go ahead but we will evaluate things as the year progresses. Don Porter mentioned that the URG training event is scheduled to take place in April and sponsors/presenters are receptive. The committee was in agreement that it would like to begin discussing the CONNEX agenda/presenters.

🎄
    • .

    • May - Safelite can present on glass repair.

    • Other potential topics

      • We need to find topics from each of our industry segments to keep everyone involved and crosssharing information.

        • Susanna from CCC may be available July or August

        • Parts and Materials: Tom is retiring in June, so we need to reach out soon. 3M is a possibility.

        • Photo Estimates

        • OEM: Tesla?

        • MSOs: Melissa Kwiatkowski from Driven Brands reached out for possible webinar. Multiple MSOs presenting?

        • Recyclers: EV battery or open recall panel discussion with Caryn Smith from ARA moderating (this was done two years ago during conference).

        • Insurance: blockchain?

          • Its hard to incorporate blockchain with CIECA

            • This would be good for CIC to present

      • The Committee liked the January CIECAST where members from different business segments all presented on one topic and how it impacted each of them. This is something we may be able to do more of to see cross impact.

  • Video

    • Script was sent to the Marketing and Education Committees for feedback

      • It was suggested that the length of the video be shortened. The current script takes around 5 min to get through, and this would be a little longer than most people will pay attention too. Recommend a three-minute “What is CIECA video” and/or shorter 30-45-second videos that can be played individually or spliced together.

      • Animation is preferred to keep the video neutral.

        • If you use someone to speak from the industry, it limits the lifespan of the video if someone retires or leaves the organization.

        • No cartoons, but whiteboard flow is preferred.

      • We have the contact for the company that worked on the Calibration video that is ready to meet to start discussing options.

      • Possible voiceover of someone that is known in the industry.

      • Include testimonials.

  • Newsletter

    • Received feedback to not use red and stick with the CIECA blue.

    • The newsletter would go out quarterly

      • Mailing list has around 4,500-4,800

      • CIECA main article on top

      • Spotlight section should not use company logo to remain non-promotional

    • Remainder of newsletter may include:

      • Update on upcoming CIECAST

      • Video of past CIECAST

      • Committee update

      • CONNEX update

  • Connex

    • CONNEX is planned for September 14-17, 2021

    • We will make a decision in May if we need to make a change; otherwise, proceed with plans

    • Bill Garoutte from NABC said he would MC the event

    • Recycled Rides would like to do a gifting

    • We will create committees to help with the different areas of CONNEX

      • Phil and Kim did a great job on food for the last CONNEX

    • Hotel is already handled

    • Need presenter ideas

      • The goal is to find a theme that correlates with our strategic plan.

      • Reach out to CIECA board for possible presenters and to let us know if their company has travel restrictions at that time.

    • Tom has talked to Hendrick Motorsports, they are not able to commit to the dates at this time.

      • Could Hendrick Motorsports be keynote speaker?

(big grin) Great meeting. Thank you everyone!
