    • Blockchain

      • State Farm and USAA were using blockchain before COVID but have not heard much about it since COVID.

  • A larger number of participants need to be included for the priority.

  • CIC meeting called out CIECA for not identifying parts.

  • At one time, it was agreed that CIC should be the one that identified the parts; the members from CIECA Committees noted this in the CIC meeting.

  • CIC and CIECA need to determine who is the best to fix this problem; it is not part of the current CIECA business strategy, but maybe it is time for CIECA to change.

  • Paul is sending out a survey to the CIECA Board of Directors to survey the Business Strategy for CIECA 2021 and will be interviewing them based off the survey results. During the November 2020 Board of Directors meeting, they will go over the findings of the survey and interviews to determine if CIECA’s Vision should change

    Ideas

    • Committee was supportive of having CIECA founders/executive director/executive committee representatives talk about CIECA’s history and direction for the future during an upcoming webinar. Paul sent a survey to the board to gather information for CIECA’s 2021 strategic plan and is following up with phone calls. January will likely be too soon for a webinar. We’ll reevaluate timing after Nov. 4 board meeting.

      • Steve suggested sending out survey to the industry as well. We discussed the possibility of having focus groups with industry influencers such as Stephen Applebaum and Vincent Romans. We need to make sure there are representatives involved from different segments.

      • We talked about reworking the survey for the industry so they will be educated about what CIECA does. (eg. You may know that CIECA has a Calibration Committee…)

    • Committee agreed with having two technical webinars in 2021 following the releases.

    • While talking about the topic of electrification, Ginny noted that the meeting to discuss the potential committee will be held next week.

    • In regard to Insure-Tech, it is a broad topic and Steve suggested reaching out to the incubators around the U.S. to learn more about what is being done.

    • Ginny will forward information about a company involved in AI/AR.

    • We talked about having a Gamification panel discussion and training being done in this area (eg Mitchell’s smart glasses)

    • Ginny will send contact information for Everledger, a company involved in blockchain.

    • Stacey will share more information about Scott McCormick and his involvement with blockchain and future technology.

    • We went over the list of speakers who have shown interest in participating in an upcoming CIECAST. Stacey will research what Renee Cachillo presented about during CONNEX.

    • Regarding open recalls, Ginny mentioned that there are new developments in this area since we last talked about this topic.

🍂 Thank you everyone for sharing your feedback, and please share the ideas for upcoming topics with others to get good turnout. Stay Healthy!
