Review Project Plan and Next Steps
Action items
- Paulette Reed to send email with talking points for Project Plan
Chuck can discuss prerequisites to determine how we can fit them into the workflow.
Scope of Project Plan https://cieca.atlassian.net/l/cp/CcFzsuQ0
Must have: Document proper calibration (Screenshots) and how the calibration was done correctly.
We added Attachment Type codes.
The Estimate has EventType with Event Type Code List that includes OEM Build Data Sheet Accessed, OEM Procedures Accessed and OEM Program Files Downloaded. Is there any other Event Types that we could add to help with the documentation?
Must Have: Ways to identify Sublet work is complete
Could we had a boolean flag to say work completed by sublet?
LaborInfo for the Damage Line could we add LaborType Code List to identify the labor done was Sublet or ADAS?
And for LaborInfo could we add sublet completed work flag here or a technician name?
This allows for a Parent Line and Child Line(s) of damages
ADAS - Calibration, Dynamic
ADAS - Component Initialization, Configuring
ADAS - Calibration, Static
ADAS - Diagnostic Operations
ADAS - Programming
ADAS - Research, ADAS
ADAS - Research
ADAS - Scanning
ADAS - Test Drive or Road Trip
ADAS - Vehicle Transportation (e.g., to sublet vendor)Prerequisites to Calibration and workflow Document:

It's amazing about the amount of stuff people leaves in a vehicle when it is being repaired
Fuel Level and all liquid levels for some OEMs
Best Practices, if you are calibrating a vehicle, you should make sure the alignment is correct, there could be preexisting damage that the owner was unaware of before the repair that the technician is working on.
Best Practices Sequence Document may be needed.
Best Practices Bare minimum: the OEM will have procedures in the repair procedures and the Calibration Tools and software have checklist, but how do you share these have been completed as requested.
Tire pressure and Size is important, if a vehicle has been lifted or added oversize tires there will need to be different specifications on the calibration.
In order to calibrate a car, you have to validate or verify that vehicles alignment is within factory specifications.
Battery maintenance has to be completed before we go into calibration.
If a car has anything out of factory specification, it should not be calibrated until that is corrected.
Do we need a document to attach to the estimates to show the steps before calibration?
Does the software provide a download to show what steps are necessary by the industry? No Technicians take pictures.
If the Software and OEM procedure is different, how do you decide what is best and or do both?
Does this document need to be a stand alone document or do we need to add the prerequistes to the flowchart? We need to know what we are trying to accomplish with the document.
Chuck will take a look at the prerequistes and flowchart for the next meeting and see how/if they can be merged.
ADAS Calibration Flowchart and Videos
The Flowcharts were created in the CIECA Calibration committee and are hosted under the CIECA Committee Workflow page and on cieca.com under Standards section. CIECA Industry Documentation
The Flowcharts are also hosted on CIC website
The video was to help everyone understand the flowcharts and is found on uTube. (142) ADAS Calibration Workflow Process - YouTube
Can we make the flowchart driven by user response? This would mean that a user can select No and only see that path and we can add links to the prerequisites with more information?
Virtual Tour of a calibration for the committee
There is a virtual calibration on ICAR that is around 15 minutes long.
The prerequisite may take hours before the calibration, and we will not see that in the video.
We may need to have a list of all the things that were done in the prerequisite to go over.
Must have: Calibration details to show in invoicing.
The Estimate has DamageLineInfo
LineItemCategoryCode that has the below ADAS values; should we add more for clarity?
