Meeting Minutes

• CIECA Team Updates:

  • In a CIECA Team meeting it was discussed that Stacey would lead the Education Committee Meetings and Paulette would take the meeting minutes going forward.

  • Education Committee meeting schedule. Normally this time of year, this team is very busy with planning for Connex. However, due to restrictions on travel and meetings due to COVID, Connex was cancelled. This has allowed the team to focus more on CIECASTS through the end of the 2020 year. It was proposed to move the Education Committee Meeting to every other week, and all the members in attendance agreed.

  • The Semi Annual meetings and the information Stacey is promoting has drawn new attention to CIECA and possible new memberships. The team thinks this would be a good time to send a message out to the committee(s) team members to verify they want to continue to receive emails and invites to the teams they are on.

• Video Update

  • Paul created a Survey Monkey and it was sent to the Education Committee to get feedback on the content of the video.

    • Several committee members had not seen the email.

• CIECASTS

  • An invite to the next CIECAST is going out tomorrow for the “Future Disruptions.”

  • The presentation will be similar to the previous presentation on future disruptions; however, it should be different and include how CIECA will be able to help with this disruptions.

  • Stacy Bartnik from CAPA offered to present at an upcoming CIECAST.

    • Stacey informed her that the 2020 year CIECAST has already been scheduled and after a strategic plan was created for 2021, we would know more about CIECAST schedule for the following year.

  • Think it would be good to have Standards/Guidelines around upcoming CIECAST webinars.

    • Non Promotional

    • Non Confrontational

    • And meet the needs of our audience.

  • Reciprocal Relationships

    • Have not heard anything new and may be put on hold

  • Website Review

    • Stacey did an initial review of CIECA.com to determine how easy it was to find information, if the website was streamlined, and if represented 'What CIECA Is..

    • A meeting has been scheduled for next week with the CIECA staff to review the initial findings.

    • It was suggested that small sections of the findings be emailed to members of this committee and they can be reviewed.

  • Semi Annual Meeting

    • The invitations for the Semi Annual meeting with the new RSVP feature was a success. We had 50+ people that are not members show interest in the meeting and CIECA.

  • New Bios on CIECA.com

    • We have one new Bio that was completed that we can use as an example to show the Board.

• Next Meeting will be Sept 2, and set up to reoccur every other week.

  • With meetings being moved to every other week, this will be Charley’s last education meeting. The committee members wished him goodbye and best wishes at the closing of the meeting.

  • We had 7 replies

  • Question 1: What is CIECA?

    • Elevator speech so it needs to be short, but enough information to get a point.

      • shorter and sweeter and more pointed the better it will be.

    • The ATM is a good analogy to finish up the questions.

    • Creating Standards is pretty much in everyone's response

    • Industry participants

    • Common Language to allow different systems to talk to each other.

    • Do we want to be known as CIECA or Full name ?

      • Mention it once Full Name, but then CIECA

    • CIECA team will work on joining all the responses and using an analogy

      • CIECA creates a common language; if some speak German and some English, CIECA is a standard language they can both understand.

  • Question 2: What is the Primary Purpose of Video?

    • Industry outreach is a similar response.

    • Last one on first page, Education and providing an understanding about the importance of standards from the past, today and tomorrow.

    • Importance of Standards and Importance of CIECA is the same. Who will impact the collision industry in the future.

    • Show people that need CIECA and how CIECA will help them.

    • This is for Non members

    • Point was made that the standards is not the most important part of CIECA, its the sharing of information between groups that would be stuck in a silo if CIECA did not get them together.

      • Everyone agrees, Standards is not the most important but it is what we share after we are complete.

  • Question 3: Who is the Target Audience ?

    • We started this discussion in Question 2.

    • There are lots of people that have a need to use what we produce but they don’t know we are here or how we can help with that need.

    • There is overlap, of who

      • Think first video is who we are

      • Second video can be the benefit of membership

      • People can share in other platforms to give them an introduction that they never thought about before.

      • This is to initiate the unknown and second video will be selling

  • Question 4 What message do we want audience to take away?

    • Why standards are important and what we do.

    • Membership value, we don’t want people to think they are not big enough to join CIECA

      • reduced development cost

    • looking at the most frequent questions on the CIECA.com page and the answers gives us the video we need.

    • We want people to share CIECA with others.

  • Question 5 What Level should we provide?

    • Based on our discussion today, what do we think about these comments?

      • Where is this video going to live? Website homepage or is it email?

        • It is believed that this will be on the webpage.

        • We can email the information to share and be on social media.

        • Can be sent out as a press release and newsletter to get CIECA more exposure.

    • Technical people and Business levels are different, but this will be generic to cover all.

  • Question 6 Thoughts or ideas

    • Interesting 3 min.

  • Question 7 What Type of video (animation, voiceover, speaker)

    • A few seem voicover, but more are looking for animation

    • Charley provided the animation videos

    • Paul is looking at animation

    • Animation helps keep people drawn into the video.

      • White Board animation seems to be a good tool to share information and connect everything together.

      • Does White Board animation have professional speaker.

      • We would like a few examples to bring to the committee

    • Synthetic animation, more avatar looking. Ginny will share information.

      • Cost was reduced from whiteboard

  • Summary: Short video 2-3 min overview.

    • It would be easier to get a voiceover for another language with white boarding animation
